The Modest Online Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions are effective from April 8th, 2019.


Modest Finland Oy (The Modest Online)

The Modest Online sells its products to private persons of legal age. All of the products include value added tax. We reserve the right to change prices and delivery costs.


All of the products sold in The Modest Online, can be ordered by adding them to the shopping cart. The payment takes place through online payment services. All received customer data is treated confidentially. The data asked from the customer will not be used for any other purposes than delivering the order or to contact the customer in unclear situations, unless otherwise specifically mentioned. The customer is required to be familiar and agree with the terms of delivery and returns.


The online payment services are provided by 3rd party payment providers. By giving personal information at the checkout, the customer agrees on payment provider's  conditions. After clicking the “buy” button, the customer has agreed on the general terms and conditions of The Modest Online.

Currently available payment methods are; Apple Pay, PayPal, Paytrail (wire transfer with Finnish banks), Stripe (Credit Card) and Klarna (invoice).
For Finnish user's using Paytrail as payment provider. Please read following terms and conditions of Paytrail.

Once we have received your order, we will immediately send you a confirmation email showing the order details. Kindly, always verify the content of the order confirmation and contact our customer service if any errors and questions occur. Save the confirmation email to keep your customer and order number available for our customer service. Always check the content of your received package with the order confirmation.

The Modest Online


The delivery charges include shipping and packaging costs. The estimated delivery costs are shown in the shopping cart. The exact delivery costs for your order can be seen once the desired delivery and payment method has been selected. Available delivery methods depend on the content and weight of your order. At the checkout, you can select the preferred delivery method in which the exact delivery costs will be shown.


The estimated delivery time for domestic orders is 2-5 working days depending on your chosen shipping method. Estimated delivery times for international deliveries are provided to you once you choose your delivery method. If the products are out-of-stock or there is a general delay in the delivery, it will be informed to you immediately.

We are not responsible for any delays, which are caused by other parties. The online store will inform about any exceptions on delivery times in their website.


You have the right to cancel this contract without announcing the reason before you have received the products. 

In order to use your right of withdrawal, you must notify us about your decision to cancel the contract in an unambiguous way (for instance, by mail or phone). In case of withdrawal, we are allowed to claim our actual cost occurred prior your cancellation such as cancelled shipping fee of already arranged shipping.  


The return period ends within 14 days starting from the day you received the last shipment, or in the case of downloadable products, from the moment you received the order.

If you decide to return your products, we will return you all transactions we have received from you, including shipping costs (but excluding additional costs from using a different shipping method than the most affordable one recommended by us by default), without delay and in any case within 14 days counting from the time we received your notice of return. We will perform the refund using the payment method you used in the original transaction, if you have not explicitly agreed otherwise, and in any case at any additional cost to you.

In order to follow the deadline of the return period, you must send us the notice of return before the return period ends.

If returns are shipped to us from outside the Europe, any additional costs like taxes, duties, custom fees or shipping charges incurred from the return will be the responsibility of the customer.

Please note, as a customer you are responsible to pay the shipping costs of the returned goods if they are shipped from outside Finland.

You must send the goods back without delay and within 14 days from sending the notice of return. You will have followed the due date, if you send the goods back before said 14-day period ends.

You are only responsible for the kind of value decrease of goods that did not result from treatment that is required for determining the nature, properties and functionality of the goods.


An unclaimed package is not comparable to returns and withdrawals. We will charge delivery costs from an unclaimed package, which has not been separately cancelled and notified to us.


If the product is missing, damaged during the delivery or you are unsatisfied with our products, you need to notify us in a written form or calling to our customer service within 14 days.
